A Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model was created to identify various parts of an XRD graph to facilitate thin-film creation and classify elements. CNNs are a form of Deep Learning that allow for image identification through various convolutional layers. While pre-made templates were used to create a preliminary model, future plans for the research entail the eventual rebuilding of the model from scratch to allow for maximum accuracy. A large amount of data taken from online resources such as the Inorganic Crystal Structure Database was run through the model to refine it.
