The Honors College Programming Council (HCPC) exists to provide meaningful opportunities for students to engage with the Honors College community outside of the classroom. Signature events include pumpkin painting, glitter jars, and an escape room. HCPC events are open to all members of the Honors College. Hello my name is Espi Hinojos. I go by she/her/hers pronouns. I am currently a Junior at UNT majoring in Biology and minoring in Chemistry. I am the 2022-2023 HCPC President. I was previously an Honors college STEM and BIPOC interest community coordinator. I am also a Director of Morale for Eaglethon, and a COS ambassador.

Hello! My name is Jackie Perez, and I am the Vice President of HCPC for the 2022-2023 academic year. I am from a small town in Texas called Copperas Cove, and I am a junior majoring in Psychology and Addiction Studies. After graduation, I plan on going to graduate school to get a PhD and become a Child Clinical Psychologist. I absolutely love learning about adolescents and have always enjoyed being in their presence! Apart from school, I am a McNair Scholar, work for UNT as a Resident Assistant at Crumley Hall, and am a member of the Psychology Student Association. In my free time, I love to read, watch movies, listen to music, spend time with friends, and adventure in nature :)

Hi! My name is Sarah Paulsen and I’m from Austin, TX! I was born in Portland, Maine and spent the first few years of my life in Maine. My family goes back to Boothbay every summer and it’s my favorite place on earth! I am currently a junior majoring in Finance with a minor in Real Estate. I am a member of the Alpha Alpha chapter of Chi Omega on campus. I currently serve as the Community service director! In my free time, I love attending concerts, creating ceramics, serving the community, drinking coffee, cooking new food, hanging out with my friends. I also love cats and hope to get my own this year! My favorite honors class so far would have to be The Good Society (HNRS 1100) with Professor Major. Professor Major always made class interesting and challenged us with complex ideas of how societies function. Out of all the people in the world, I would like to meet Stevie nicks because I love her and Fleetwood Mac so much :).

Hi everyone! My name is Beatriz Alapatt. I am a junior pursuing a biochemistry major with minors in biology and spanish. After graduation, I want to get into medical school. I’m from Coppell, Texas, but I used to live in New Mexico for most of my childhood. Last year, I was a coordinator in the STEM interest community, and now I am so excited to serve as committee chair. I’m also involved with the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) at UNT and the Thomistic Institute chapter at UNT. I enjoy reading, watching movies, going on bike rides, growing in my faith, and having good conversations.

Howdy!! I’m April McDowell! This is my second year at UNT, in the honors college, and my first year as a member of HCPC. I am a psychology major, and I’m minoring in ASLP. I love all kinds of music (I’m a band and theatre nerd at heart), and I’ve played piano for about 12 years. 3 fun facts about me: I went to Italy this past summer for study abroad in Rome, my grandfather has a goat farm, and I love UNT! :)

Howdy! My name is Angelina Miljanic (I have a lot of nicknames: Lina, Fran, and/or Jan) and I am a sophomore working towards a BS in Psychology. I am thinking about tagging on a minor in behavior analysis but that’s unofficial at the moment. I graduated high school in a very small town in Tennessee and moved down here for college! My current hometown is Irving. My academic plan has definitely flip-flopped between pre-med and pre-pa for the past few months, but I’ve settled with going on the clinical psychologist route. In my free time, I love to get creative! Digital art is super fun and I am currently learning how to crochet! Starting this Fall, I will be working as an RA at Kerr A Hall and also working as a Take Flight Ambassador for the College of Liberal Arts.

Victor Kajopelaye (He/Him)

Victor Kajopelaye was born in Houston, Texas. As a child, he was always curious and loved to learn/gain all the knowledge he could. In high school, Victor played multiple sports from football, powerlifting, golf, track, and many more. In addition to this, he also joined and even lead many organizations such as the student council, superintendent’s student council, principal student council, ASA, etc. Eventually, Victor graduated from Cypress Park High School in early May of 2020. Beginning his journey at the University of North Texas the following year where he is majoring in Biomedical Engineering. Where he has be apart of a fee different organizations like ASA, NSO, BIPOC, and so much more. Also getting in community church groups and hang out with friends on his free time. His long-term goal is to earn a doctorate in medicine and ultimately become a seasoned medical doctor. As a medical doctor, he hopes to provide healthcare services to support communities that have limited or no access to medical services both nationally and internationally through medical missions. At this point, he is focused on completing his bachelor’s degree and help increase the BIPOC community student life. With the hopes of making the up coming school year better then previous one!

Hello! My name is William Zamudio and I am a Computer Science and Philosophy double major with minors in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics. I’m also a McNair Scholar and a Terry Scholar. After graduation, I plan to pursue a master's in Artificial Intelligence and a Ph.D. in Learning Technologies to provide valuable educational resources as well as lead innovative efforts to enable minorities, and those who do not have access to traditional schooling, to receive quality studies. Some of my other interests include Social Action & Culture, Technology & Education, and Environmental Ethics.
