Abstract:
Climate change is potentially disrupting the passage times of migratory birds by creating temporal food mismatches and by affecting times of departure and arrival. This study investigates the impact of climate change on the migratory timing of a long-distance migrant, the Nashville Warbler (Leiothlypis ruficapilla) and a short-distance migrant, the Common Yellowthroat (Geothlypis trichas). This study determines mean passage dates for both species and uses linear regression analysis to evaluate trends. This study is intended to provide insight into observed patterns and contribute to research focusing on migratory birds in the North Texas area.
