This experiment was designed to determine the most efficient promoter sequence for activating the expression of the Nodd1 gene. To accomplish this, three plasmids with different promoter sequences were designed with the recognition sequence for the NodD1 gene being located in different locations. Once the efficacy each type of plasmid is determined , we will create additional plasmids, which contain multiple NodD1 recognition sequences in varying locations. If a plasmid with an adequate rate of activation is identified, it can be used to alter the rate of flavonoid production in plants.
