Abstract:
The study involves phononic crystals (PnC) which are structures that present band gaps at specific frequencies. To further the observation of the induction of the Doppler effect by continuous fluid flow to create non-reciprocity, a hydraulic system was created to control the speed of fluids passing through a hollow PnC to analyze how the speed of fluids affect non-reciprocity. After creating a solenoid valve-based system, the average rate of increase of flow rate is 0.623 mL/s per watt through controlling the amplitude of a water pump. Future Goals for the study involve automizing and make the flow rate more precise.
