Today nearly all microelectronics companies require the use of copper etching in the production of printed circuit boards, integrated circuits, copper interconnect wires, etc. This means that regulating this process is important for the maintenance and reliability of the supply of microchips and is a strong point of interest for research. Our research focuses on the use of UV-Vis and ATR Probe Spectroscopy to determine the etching characteristics of CuCl₂ solutions based on their spectra in the UV to NIR region.
