The Great Plains Honors Council (GPHC) serves as a vital network for collegiate honors
programs across Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas. As a regional
affiliate of the National Collegiate Honors Council, GPHC promotes academic excellence,
collaboration, and leadership development within these honors communities.
Each year, GPHC holds its annual spring conference, bringing together students and
faculty to share research, ideas, and experiences. Student presentations are a key
focus, providing a platform for showcasing their academic and creative work.
As the host institution for this year’s GPHC conference, the University of North Texas
is proud to welcome honors students and educators from across the region to connect,
engage, and celebrate the achievements of honors education.
This year’s conference theme, “Great Plains, Greater Possibilities,” reflects the
boundless potential that lies within both the region and its honors students. The
Great Plains is a landscape known for its vastness and resilience, and these same
qualities inspire the innovative thinking and academic excellence that define our
honors programs. As we gather at the University of North Texas, we invite participants
to explore how the unique characteristics of the Great Plains can fuel creativity,
collaboration, and a greater future for honors education.
