2. All Scholars Day posters must follow the branding and formatting guidelines outlined on this page: Poster Creation Tips and Branding Guidelines | University of North Texas.
3. Students who are approved to present at Scholars Day are required to submit their poster to be printer (for free) by the Honors College before the stated poster deadline, which is after the presentation application deadline. Please see the "Poster Printing" section below for more information.
4. The research project does not have to be concluded by the date of the Scholars Day event. In such cases, the student's poster should reflect the work they have completed on the project to-date and any future directions that they may have for the project.
5. Students are responsible for transporting their poster to Scholars Day on April 1st and hanging their poster up before the start of the session. Push pins will be provided.
6. Students are expected to be at positioned next to their poster for the duration during of the poster session. Students should be prepared to discuss their research and address questions from interested visitors.
7. Students may not present with others. If the student has been working on a research team, their poster can feature the team project but should highlight their individual contributions.
Presentation Time and Expectations
- Students must check-in for Poster presentations outside of Union 314 from 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm. No new poster entry will be allowed after 2:45 pm.
- The poster presentation session will begin at 3:00 pm and end at 3:45 pm.
- Presenters are expected to be positioned next to their poster for the duration of the poster session from 3:00 pm - 3:45 pm.
- Poster presenters are expected to leave their posters on display and remain in attendance at the event reception from 3:45 pm to 4:30 pm.
- Students are responsible for the removal of their poster and return of push pins to check-in tables at the end of the reception at 4:30 pm.
Required Mentor Response
The poster presentation application required approval by the student's faculty research mentor. Upon the student's application submission, an email containing a unique link to the mentor approval form will be automatically sent to the mentor email address that was entered in the application. Mentors will be asked to review the research abstract and respond to the application by March 8th at 12:00 pm (noon). Once their mentor completes the form, applicants will receive an email with the final decision for their Scholars Day application.
Required Submission for Poster Printing
- Students who have approved application to present at Scholars Day will be required to submit their poster to be printed (for free) by the Honors College by March 23rd at 12:00 pm (noon) using this form:

- It is understandable that students may not have final results by the poster submission deadline. In such cases, the student's poster should reflect the work they have completed on the project to-date and any future directions that they may have for the project.
- Students who do not submit their poster by the stated poster submission deadline (March 23rd at 12:00 pm, noon) will no longer be eligible to present at Scholars Day.
Additional Considerations
- If students would also like to present an oral presentation, they must also fill out an application to present an oral presentation.
- Multiple raffles will be held starting at 3:00 pm. Raffle winners must be present to win.
- All poster presenters are expected to remain in attendance for the event reception from 3:45 pm - 4:30 pm.
Scholars Day Presentation Application
Applications to present a poster are due February 22nd, 2026 by 12:00 pm (noon). This application requires approval by the student’s UNT faculty mentor.
Only the application is due on February 22nd at 12:00 pm (noon). The final poster is not due for submission until the separate, poster submission deadline of March 23rd at 12:00 pm (noon).
