Undergraduate students at UNT may submit full research papers to present their thesis or dissertation. Through written word, students must present their methodologies, research, and its significance to a general audience.
All UNT students are encouraged to participate and do not need to be members of the Honors College
Award
1st Place receives $450, 2nd Place receives $350, and 3rd Place receives $250. A panel of judges selected by Dr. James Duban, the Associate Dean for Research and National Scholarships for TAMS and the Honors College, will judge the selections. The decision of the adjusticating panel is final.
Participation Guide
- Papers must meet the requirements found at https://journals.library.unt.edu/index.php/undergrad/about/submissions
- Full Research Papers must be submitted as .doc, .docx or .pdf files to upload to the application.
- Following Scholars Day, the papers may be submitted for possible publication in UNT's electronic journal of undergraduate research, The North Texas Journal of Undergraduate Research.
Announcement of winners
- The winners of the Full Research Paper competition will be announced at the Scholars Day reception on April 1st at 3:45 pm.
- All presenters are invited to the poster presentations at Scholars Day on April 1st at 3 pm and the reception at 3:45 pm. The multiple raffles will be held starting at 3 pm. Raffle winner must be present to win.

The applications for participating in Scholars Day will open on Tuesday, January 21st,
