Abstract: 
This study focused on the growth of single or few layer Molybdenum Disulfide crystals using ion implantation followed by post implant thermal annealing of Silicon Dioxide substrate as a potential new method for fabrication of 2D materials. The goal is to see if this method is viable for use in growing Transition Metal Dichalcogenide crystals to surpass the use of Silicon, the current material of choice for semiconductor devices, which has faced shortcomings in aggressive scaling due to short channel effects. To continue Moore's law, new materials and fabrication processes must be introduced to the semiconductor industry.
