The decision making process was investigated through the Ultimatum Game experimental paradigm in which the researcher divides a fixed sum of money between themselves and the participant. Based on the offer ratio, the participant can accept or reject the monetary offer. Emotions, fairness, and other abstract variables were quantified with a Likert scale to more objectively determine they affect the participant’s response and action potentials were recorded in regions of the brain associated with certain processes. From these data, it is evident that logic, emotions, and more substantially impact the brain’s decision in the experiment.
