I researched molecular, cellular, and tissue biomechanics via publications of Dr. Nanshu Lu, who conducts research at The University of Texas at Austin. In regard to my own encounter with “the literature,” I came to appreciate the need to look up terminology and closely follow the logic and drift of journal articles. I took satisfaction in learning that the research reinforced some of my previous knowledge, as I have previous experience working with flexible and stretchable electronics. And, while reading the journal articles, I found myself inspired to achieve great things, as Dr. Lu showed me the amazing advances underway in biomedical engineering.
