Abstract: 
The existing cardiac stent experience the risk of in-stent restenosis (rebuild-up of fats at the stent location) and in-stent thrombosis (blockage due to blood clot). A unique design of a stent dimpled on its inner surface was proposed. Using the optimized dimensions of the dimple, the effects of a varying number of dimples per unit surface area of a stent, or in other words, the dimple spatial density, were examined. The optimized set of conditions offered a significant impact on the flow of the fluid through the region while simultaneously not impinging on flow.
