Abstract: 
Osteoporosis is a condition marked by brittle bones with increased porosity, which can lead to fracture, disability, and death. To avoid these adverse outcomes, diagnosing osteoporosis and starting treatment early is crucial. However, current diagnostic techniques involve radiation, which is linked to cardiovascular disease and cancer. This research aims to develop an elastography-based ultrasound technique to provide an alternate means of diagnosing osteoporosis. Early success has been observed with this technique in imaging human bone, with results displayed as bulk modulus maps. Future studies will examine the properties of bone encased in tissue phantom material to mimic in vivo imaging.
