Acompañamientomeans to walk in solidarity with migrants, typically under the circumstances of some sort of learning and teaching environment (Sepulveda 2011). In the context of my research, acompañamientoseeks to undermine the detention and deportation regime, in a collective effort of both acompañadaand acompañadora. Key assumptions: To expand the pedagogy for inclusiveness, the study highlights detention as a disruptor for migrant communities that limits aspects of learning and teaching by using criminalization, high surveillance and limited resources.
